THE ROYAL OAK OPTIMIST CLUB 2009
THE ROYAL OAK OPTIMIST CLUB 2009
It’s pretty simple. We believe in kids. It’s our mission to give them the hope and vision to understand they can accomplish whatever they set out to do.
we work to make a difference
Through our Bowlabration, the Oak Apple Run and other events we play to raise funds for kid-oriented organizations and causes. We do this by mixing fun with our work.
we play to make a difference
We meet every Wednesday morning, 7:15 am, at Jimi’s on Washington between 7th and Lincoln. You’ll feel right at home and we’ll even buy your breakfast. Please join us.
we invite you to help us make this difference

Royal Oak Optimist Club reaching out during tough economic times
ROYAL OAK--In light of the current economic conditions, the Royal Oak Optimist Club is reaching out to positive professionals in the community who are looking to make a difference in the lives of youth in the community while also benefitting from networking with other like-minded successful professionals.
Beginning today, the Royal Oak Optimist Club is waiving dues for all new members as a way to reach out to those in the community who want to support the Club’s mission of helping youth. The Optimist Club believes this is a way to reach out to professionals who may find themselves currently unemployed and searching for networking opportunities.
Research shows that volunteerism and a positive attitude go a long way to improving your health and outlook on life. It is also important to extend your network of friends and contacts during these times. You may be just six degrees away from your next employment opportunity and connecting with the Optimist Club is just one way to close that gap. Our Club’s membership is up significantly over the last two years, and as a Club we felt this was one additional way for us to help strengthen the fabric of our community.
This program will be in place through July 1, 2009 and may be extended into the fourth quarter.
The Royal Oak Optimist Club meets on Wednesday mornings at Jimi’s Restaurant in Royal Oak, Michigan at 7:15 AM. First time visitors receive a complimentary breakfast for three Wednesdays as well. Dr. Steven Shanbom will help us explore the human eye at our meeting this coming Wednesday, June 24th.
